About
Hi, I’m Parthip Thyagarajan. I’m a blogger and entrepreneur living in Mumbai. By day, I’m a Co-founder at WeddingSutra.com, the most popular e-magazine on Indian Weddings.
www.5thwhy.com is the space that reflects my interest in understanding why we behave the way we do. On 5thwhy.com you don’t get clear answers and don’t always hear the absolute truth— you get interesting observations and insightful views– to give you enough food for thought. Everything revolves asking the WHY—to know what shapes people’s behaviour, attitudes and their mental imagery.
Hey Parthip, Congratulations for starting the new blog! Your theme is really interesting. Could relate to your article on eavesdropping in local trains (WHY its refreshing to read about low-cost pleasures)http://5thwhy.com/2009/08/04/why-its-refreshing-to-read-about-low-cost-pleasures/
5thwhy tells us how much others view influences us. If we spend a little time reflecting what is needed, treat others views as an information, and then form our own view, we would make far more intelligent decisions in life. 5thwhy inspires us to think—why others say what they say, why particular interests promote ‘fads’ or hype ‘trends’. The traditional wisdom shared by experts (with no political or business interests) through dialogues with 5thwhy, and the other information, insights on the Views and Recommended Reading section should help us make sound, realistic judgements on our choices in life.
5thwhy is well thought out and nicely crafted. The posts make for a good read and are educative too!
5thwhy has some very interesting and original articles. Keep up the good work!
Hey Parthip,
Great job!! A much needed introspective piece that can get people thinking about why they do what they do, rather than switching off all these things that make life simpler, pretending they’re not there – but they are there, and like when an ostrich close its eyes to danger, the danger doesn’t go away – so also closing our eyes and our minds to these questions do not make them go away – it only creates an illusionary comfort zone.
Keep it up – its the need of the hour – where we start to think about why we do what we do!!
Hi Parthip,
Congrats on your blog. I read few of the articles on the blog, like you say there are no absolute answers but interesting insights and food for thought. Nice pieces and make a good read. Keep it up
